President Barack Obama took his State of the Union address on the road, Wednesday. Obama called for a higher minimum wage at a Costco Wholesale in Lanham, Md.

Obama will deliver four remarks on economic policy and jobs, concluding in Nashville, Tenn. Thursday.

The president called for a higher minimum wage that would lift all full-time workers out of poverty.

Obama said that he would use his executive power on the face of congressional inaction, echoing what he told members of Congress Tuesday.

At Costco, entry-level employees make $11.50 an hour.

The president applauded efforts by businesses and local governments to guarantee living wages. Gov. Martin O’Malley has proposed a $10.10 minimum wage in Maryland, and entry-level workers at Costco Wholesale make $11.50 an hour.

Obama showed support for the Harkin-Miller proposal, or Fair Minimum Wage Act, which would raise the federal minimum wage to $10.10.
